Now Online: New Stylized and Direct Translations of "Lokka Táttur", the Faroese 'Tale of Loki'

We at Mimisbrunnr.info are very pleased to present two new translations of “Lokka Táttur”, the Faroese ‘tale of Loki’. One of very few English language translations of the text, these editions are now online for your reading pleasure.

"Lokka Táttur" is a traditional Faroese song first recorded (that is, textualized) in the early 19th century. The song has elicited a fair amount of commentary from scholars over the years primarily because it features a trio of deities from the North Germanic record—Odin, Hœnir, and Loki—who help out a farmer and his son.
