New translation: "Lokrur" as rendered by Ann Sheffield, Denise Vast, and Lyonel Perabo

Lokrur is a rhyming poem (rímur) from medieval Iceland that describes the journey of the trio Thor, Loki, and Thjálfi to the hall of the jötunn Útgarða-Loki. The story is best known from the Prose Edda, but Lokrur, which would have been recited for entertainment during the long winter evenings, puts its own spin on the tale.

To date rarely translated in its entirety, we’re very pleased to be able to offer a fantastic new (and free!) edition of Lokrur rendered by Ann Sheffield, Denise Vast, and Lyonel Perabo here on Mimisbrunnr.info.
